I just finished resawing some 6/4 stock to make book matched panels. After glue up and sanding out the bandsaw marks the panels are 1/2" thick. 6/4 stock after milling was 1 1/4" so I lost 1/4" due to the saw kerf and my bandsaw technique. How much stock do you typically lose when resawing? Is there any problem with the strength of the glue joint on panels this thin? The panels will be supported in a 1/4" groove in the face frame. The largest panel is 46 1/2" x 12 3/4". What is the thinnest panel you would attempt to glue up in this manner?

I've glued 1/16" material edge to edge successfully. 1/2" is easy and solid, just take care not to bow or twist the stock with the clamps.

I have a project that I have been working on making recipe boxes. I take a 3/4" x 5" board and resaw it and after sanding I have a board that is 7/32" and one that is 3/8" so I am losing 5/32"

I glue the 7/32 boards up with no problem and use them for the top and the bottom of the box.

Your way far from the limits of a solid wood glue up
