am sure it has been discussed to the point of boredom, but what are users thoughts on high speed grinders used with DWAY CBN WHEELS

That's the combination I use, Allen. It works fine for me. It requires a light touch but so does fine woodwork. However, being a confirmed tool junkie, I must admit the new Jet 1750 RPM has caught my eye.

Dave at DWay says that high speed for the ones that he sells is fine. I use one of his on my high speed grinders with no issues.

I have a variable speed grinder with coarse and fine CBN wheels. Used to use it on the slower speeds with AO wheels and, after switching to CBN, have slowly increased speeds to maximum. Don't notice any problems, and it seems much quicker to touch up the edges. As Faust says though, you must be more gentle when sharpening at fast speed.

Hey Allen,

I think Dave the owner of D-way uses I speed when he sharpens.
