I have used My Yahoo for about 5 years. They just "upgraded" it. Now weather consists entirely of useless graphics, while actual forecasts are nowhere to be found.
So, I want an alternative?

Any good homepages that give weather, news, and a calendar?

There's an option to return to the old style homepage.

There are many different sites you could use as your homepage. MSN, Google, to name a couple, and many local TV stations now have informative sites you could use as well. But if it’s really weather you are after then you could use the National Weather Service and tweak it for the exact area you want.

When I upgraded they said there was no way to get back, but of course they also said it was an upgrade.

So how do I return?

I have desktop icons that take me directly to the weather.
Right-click on a blank desktop space, and mouse over NEW, and then SHORTCUT.
In the Location box, copy and paste this: http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/new-york/weather-radar
Click next, give it a name, and save it. You can do this for any webpage you want to have quick access to.

I don't understand the need for a homepage. If you need to have one, use Sawmill Creek

You can return to the previous version by using the Canadian Yahoo - www.ca.my.yahoo.com (http://www.ca.my.yahoo.com)

You'll have to reestablish some of your content panels and some may not be available but at least you can get the old formatting back.

If SMC didn't consider any news older than 45 minutes (maybe an hour?) to be old news and not worth reading, I'd do that. As it is, I come here, hit "new posts", scan through each page to the last one, then start reading threads from the bottom up. Once done, I do the entire process until no new threads show up, at which point I go to another website.

I'm an info-aholic ;)

I have always had Yahoo as my homepage too and I am not happy with the new format. The first time it popped up Feb 1, it said I couldn't go back, but I could not find an option to keep the old format either. Don't you just hate it when others assume what we like?
