i need a new lumber source

I'm located in central Iowa. My lumber sources have seemed to dry up. Where do you get your lumbar if you're in Iowa. I would prefer lumber mills or maybe a cheaper wholesaler

Have you tried Liberty Hardwoods in Ankeny? They are great to work with. They will sell wholesale as well as retail depending on your situation. I've had great experiences with them.

Who do you deal with when you go through Liberty? The person I've had the last two or three times has not done me very well. I'm currently looking for someone else maybe a smaller operation. They do not seem to be a small woodworking place. If I don't want to order a thousand board foot they want to give me grief about it.

Check out forestryforum.com That is where the sawmill guys hang out. There are surely many bandmills in your area. Talk to those guys about getting some wood. Most guys would like to support their bandmill habit by selling some wood or custom sawing.
