I want to find a little 3 jaw chuck to hold rings, as seen in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Pn6D8l9-GU but i cant find anything like it anywhere, gravograph also use them, im sure they dont make them, anyone seen anything like it ? cheers guys

A 3" Sherline lathe chuck works. I made mine with 3 drilled holes to hold dowel pins that hold the rings. They are replaceable since I cut through them a lot.

Thanks guys !!!! thats the thing, now need a price. I thought about modding one up like Bruce suggested, if they are silly money then that is what i will be doing.

I gave the uk rep a call but they dont work fridays !?! called the States and they said i would have to wait for them to come back on Monday.
Only us fools working !!!

I had a quote for something like $6000 for one from Sisma that I liked on my other laser. It tilts and the pins spring to center so easily works for internal or external holding. That's wayyy too much though. The Sherline works just fine.

Matt, give Derek Warren at Warren Machine Tools a call (Warco) he's got quite a few unusual items like that in stock, probably Polish but not bad at all. Kitagawa make them (or used to when I worked for them) but they will be expensive from Kitty.
