Leaning toward an JDS overhead air filter. they just seem robust. My shop is approx 585 SF and has AC(mini split unit) It is approx 25 x 21 with an extra little wing on it of 60 sf. The ceilings are 10 ft so total volume is 5850 cu ft.

What brands would you recommend and pros/cons please.

I don't know if this is still the case but the JDS-750 used to win the bake-offs time and again. Dad's had one for years and it has been a trooper.

+1 on the JDS 750-ER. Six years old; good power; does my 525 sq ft shop very nicely. Never a repair or glitch. Nice remote (still using the original batteries) Replacement filters easily available. Just bought a bunch from Wynn Environmental.

+1 Another satisfied JDS customer. My JDS 750 runs 24/7 and has not missed a beat for nearly 10 years. 925 sq ft

I had a early version of the JDS and was reasonably happy with it although feel the Jet is worth a look and would probably be my choice next time around. Either way, I'd upgrade to a Wynns filter.

Be sure and get a Dylos DC1100 air quality monitor to go along with the air cleaner and your dust collector. You have no idea what is happening without one.

Thanks all. JDS no longer makes the 750 but an upgraded version called AirTech HP Should be even better specs. http://jdstools.com/air-tech-hp-air-cleaner.aspx

I will be in the market for a filter soon, so thanks to all who replied to Tim's thread. Following the link to the HP I noticed that the replacement bag filter was about $50.00. I know it will vary with the shop but any idea how often this will need replaced?

My interior bag filter doesn't look bad after several years of use. But my usage may be less than yours.

Check filter prices with Wynn Environmental. I just bought filters from them and they were much cheaper than even Amazon. The quality seems better than the OEM from JDS
