I have a Qualspray 2 qt pressure pot that I bought from Homestead Finishing a few years ago. I was using it over the weekend and couldn't get it to adequately pressurize. It's not the check valve, and there's a good seal around the lid. The only other part is the regulator that sits on top of the lid. I took it apart, and it doesn't seem like there's much that can go wrong with these, but it seems as though the problem has to be with the regulator. Does anyone have experience with this - can a regulator go bad?

I plan to call Jeff at Homestead, but thought I'd ask here as well.

Thanks!
Dave

They can. The diaphram can puncture, rust can block a passage, springs can break.

a fairly common problem is gtting a build-up of finish in the orifice where the air comes into the pot from the regulator. Check it to make sure it's clean.
