To Anchor Seal or not PART 2

I will be sealing up all of my logs from now on.

BUT!

What about the ones I have now with splits? Should I just seal them or should I cut off the split and then seal?

Ed,

I am no expert on sealing logs, but I would cut off the splits and then seal. If you don't, I would think that the log would loose more moisture through the splits that you can't get sealed.

Cut them back beyond the splits, then seal them

It probably wont matter. I would get them milled into some usable blanks though. The sooner you cut them to a size you can use and get the pith removed to better off you are as far as movement goes.
