Hello All,

I realized I am missing something for my shop. I need a nice chair.

I like to stand while I work, but I could use a "thinking chair" to plan my next move in the shop :-)

I do a variety of woodworking in a 12x30 foot shop, with a concrete floor.

woodturning
router table work
band saw boxes
scroll saw
handwork with bench

Looking for something with wheels, and a bit tall.

Just curious what you use and like.

Thanks,
Michael

I use a tall, 4 legged wooden stool. Hadnt thought of putting wheels on it. Hmmmmm.

Check out some nearby industrial auctions for pharmaceutical or electronics companies. Chairs designed for eight hours at a microscope tend to be very comfy with lots of adjustments. Clean Room chairs are especially nice since they have no fabric to absorb dust and are easy to clean.

I took two outdoor heavily padded bar chairs that we didn't need and moved into my shop office. Nice comfortable thinking chairs. You gotta have a comfortable thinking chair. I wish they weren't as wide based and on wheels but they are too comfortable to complain about.

Great thread. My friend gave me a creaky old swivel chair with casters. Green leather. I love it. No good photos but you'll see it here:
