I am new to sketch up and wondering some good training sites. I want to use to design furniture and built ins for future projects. I not really want to go the pro version. not have $600 or so dollars burning hole in my pocket.

Good luck. And you don't really need the Pro version.

There are some good demos out there for free but if you are going to use Sketchup for woodworking, the tutorial from Dave Richards is worth FAR more than its $13 cost. No association, just a very happy customer. Here is a link: http://www.tauntonstore.com/fine-woodworkings-google-sketchup-guide-for-woodworkers-basics-download-067125.html

I'm no fan of Sketchup as a package (and I'm certainly no expert or even hapless amateur for woodworking) but even I have heard of Dave Richards tutorial and how useful it is (bear in mind I'm also 3,000 or so miles away)

cheers
