I don't know squat about this stuff, but I hear that V bulletin sites are being hacked. Is this such a site? The Hobby Machinist is one,and has lost all its files. This is the 2nd time it has been hacked by a Korean guy in the past few days. They have backup and are working to get the site back up. Home Model Engine Machinist(not certain of the name, now) has also been hacked.

All I know is V Bulletin sites are being repeatedly hacked by trouble makers.

This may be something to post in the Tech conference or at least sent to Keith.

Yes George, this is a vBulletin site. You might do as Jim suggested and give the big guys here a heads up.

I made Aaron aware of this issue. He should be taking the appropriate steps to protect our system.

Thanks,

Another vBulletin forum I frequent was cracked and the user name/password/email address database was downloaded. In this case it was an administration problem, not a software problem. This experience does, however, emphasize caution about using the same password on sites of less consequence and sites 'that matter' such as credit card or other financial institutions.
