This is a white oak root burl bowl and pitcher, I just finished for a friend of mine in Michigan. The bowl is about 10 x 2 and the pitcher is about 5 x 6 or there abouts. Finish is BLO, followed by lacquer knocked back, and will wax, and buff after it cures for a bit. The lid was kind of a after thought, so it's like a stopper instead of recessed in. thanks as always.271013271014271015271016271017271018271019

Thanks all. As far as drying this. I ruffed it out to the 10 % and zapped it a few times in the microwave. Then I coated the out side with wax. Let sit for about a month that way. As it didn't get any major cracks, I went a head and turned it down a little more, to just under 3/4", brought it in the house, and put on a wire rack, and set the rack over a AC vent for about a month and a half, checking on it quite often. Keep weighing it on my scale till it stopped losing weight. It does have a small crack on the inside but it doesn't go all the way through. Had filled that in the second round with CA. If I had turned this down to 1/8 or smaller I could of got that out also. As it is it's 1/4, and for a pitcher I thought that was good enough.

Very nice work with some difficult (but pretty) wood. Is the handle laminated or steam bent or ??
