For several months I've been looking for a pin router at a good deal. The bench top ones are hard to find at a good price and I have no room for the larger ones that are always on the auctions. Shop Fox has one, but at $600 there is not much to it. Made me think that it would be pretty easy to build one similiar to theirs..

Rather that taking the time to design one (time is really at a premium), I was wondering if anyone has seen any plans for one. If not, I'll just have to sleep a little less.

Thanks

Perry

There was an article in Popular Mechanics eons ago for such an animal. The link to the article is: http://www.popularmechanics.com/home_improvement/workshop/1274466.html

Please note that this site is REALLY ANOYING with a bunch of blinking "you're a winner" ads...Gosh, I hate that!!

Perry, here is an option for a table mounted router that may work for you. It is for pin routing small objects.

Thanks Jim, I took a look at what they did. I think I can do better than their design. If no one else has a source, looks like I may have to come up with a design. Anyone interested in buying a set of plans?

Thanks Mike, I've seen that gizmo before. What I'm looking for is the router above the table, raised and lowered by an air cylinder. Some people refer to these as inverted pin routers. Such a design lets you see what you are doing as you pass the work under the bit. They are hard to beat for some production applications.
