Rockler sells a 4' T-Track with 4 star knobs, 4 t knobs and t-bolts, item 24063.

The T-Track is just normal T-Track but the neat thing is it all come in a clean plastic tube with caps on each end.
The tube is an excellent tube for storing dowel rods. I don't keep a lot of dowel rods on hand but I have a few of all different sizes, this tube is just awesome for storing them. You can see what you have and how long it is.

I use a piece of 4" pvc pipe I found laying around.

That is what I was using when I got the T-Track and then moved all my dowels to the clear tube, I can see what I have. I have a lot of shorts and different sizes and with the clear tube I can see just what I have when I need one.

Great idea Bill. Why am I storing those empty tubes in the rafters when I could be using them!?!

yep- I have 3 of them and 2 are for dowels and one is for thin strip leftovers which can be very handy to have at the ready.

But I'll admit it was probably a year before this idea popped into my head. They are also just a smidgeon bigger than 2 1/4" vac fittings so there might be some creative use there as well.

Also great for storing strips of inlay that seem to accumulate.

Pretty neat idea. I don't need the t-track but it reminded me that I got some posters at work a while back and I took the hard cardboard tube home )about 4" dia) "just in case I had a need for it" and I can store dowels in it. Thanks.

353209353209I realize this is an old thread but I was searching for T-track info and found this thread, so I wanted to post to it. Here's how I store long skinny things. Each PVC piece is marked for length, if something is shorter than a given pipe pc it goes into the next size down. Makes it easy to find what I'm looking for.
Sorry for the blurry pic.

I do the same Rick. It works quite well.
