Milling the inner slot on a Crush Grind pepper mill mechanism

They are using a keyhole router bit to mill an internal slot. That movie scares the heck out of me. There has to be a better way.

You have a 25mm hole in the middle and you have to mill a slot 2.5mm deep 15mm from the end. Woodcraft sells a special lathe tool that you maneuver into the hole and make the cut.

His hand movement over the bit is a little faster than I would go about it, but I don't see anything terribly scary with it.

That said, if you don't feel comfortable with any procedure, you shouldn't do it.
