How long did you guys make your miter slots on your out feed table for your TS? I only want to do this once, not too short or too long.

Thanks

The miter slots should be long enough to ensure that you largest sled can fully cut through the work piece. ;-)

As Tom said, you only need to make them long enough that your sled or miter gage goes past the center line of your blade. I ran them 15" beyond the back table edge for my Unisaw.

I never ever put miter slots in an out feed table.

I was kinda looking at that depth. I figured anything up to 24" could be cut on a sled.

I have a sled with a 50" space between front and back that I use to square up plywood full width if need be.

I don't understand the point of stopping the slots. What does that accomplish?

In my case, they keep me from accidentally cutting through the acrylic guard on my sled.

Ahh. Using it as a stop. Interesting.
