I spent a little time making a splitter today. It is made of oak. I press it into the saw kerf from the bottom of the ZCI & press the pin in through the counter sunk hole on the right side of the ZCI it works pretty good. :)

I wonder about the durability of that splitter? seems like it might break under use.

Only $20 over the MJ spliter which is very much closer the Bart's design. But $20, could buy a nice treat. :)

I was thinking the same thing. Bart please let us know how it stands up under use.

Hi Tim thanks for the concern. I would have glued it in but didn't know what glue to use with the ZCI being Poly. It has a real snug fit & the pin & base holds it so it can't move.

I guess I just have to use it for while & see how it works out. :)

Bart this is a neat idea! It will be interesting to see how it lasts. If it doesn't last, it will be easy to make another!

Bart, that really is a clever setup....just be careful if you find that you remove it much; you could get some slop which may cause it to misalign behind the kerf....anyway, I like it.
