Cherry Bowls

High folks,

Turned a couple of cherry bowls this weekend. I'm happier with the first than the second. The just have a coat of oil in them, once they dry I'll buff them. They are about 6" in diameter.

How high a grade did you sand? I haven't seen much Cherry with the Glow and Glimmer of these.

Very nice Bill. I especially like the time you spent on the foot and the way it doesn't take away from the overall roundness. Really beautiful.

Bruce, I sanded to 320. They should gloss up once I hit them with the Beall though I'm afraid to touch the second one for fear I'll break it.

The wood came from this piece of cherry. I'm actually a little disappointed that there wasnt even more figure in it.

The natural edge actually comes from the face of the crotch and not the bark.

Looks to me like you got pretty good figuring on these Bill! I wouldn't be disappointed. They look great!
