I was given a can of Zinsser Bull's Eye Shellac and want to make Friction Polish out of it. Can I use it in the traditional equals parts of Zinsser Shellac, Boiled Linseed Oil and Denatured Alcohol, or do I need to change the formula because it is premixed?

That's what I use for friction polish and it works just fine. Did you get the clear shellac?

Hi Rich,
Yes. I have clear shellac. On another note, I have someone tell me to use Walnut oil in place of BLO for better results. Interesting. I may have to get a couple of small squeeze bottles and experiment.

How old is it? Zinsser claims a longer life, but if the can is old, it could stay soft.
