I bought mine at Costco, and I've heard of Sams having some as well.

Mine were a steal about $9 for four. Some time ago though.

John,

I picked up a couple of four packs at one of the automotive stores (Can't remember which one). I paid about $10 for each four pack.

John -

Ours came from Cosco. Have seen them at Northern Tool and Equipment, too.

What did you pay for them there if you don't mind me asking?

Just bought four eight-packs from Sam's Club this week. $17.00 for eight, and they come with edging strips so you don't have the jigsaw-puzzle edges.

I've got about half my (26 X 32) shop floor covered with them.

Not the same as those (non-modular) but the 12' x 3' mat I have in our kitchen as well as some of the ones in my shop came from ULINE (http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_1751.asp?pricode=wf377). I found the prices reasonable and the variety of sizes convenient. Service was quick, too. Some folks also like horse mats from places like Tractor Supply, Agway, etc.

Sam's Club. I bought gray ones but they are carring only the reversable one now.
About $17.50 for 32 sq. ft.

How well can one roll equipment like table saw, bandsaws on these pads? I want to cover the entire garage but have to be able to move the tools around.

I got mine from Costco for a little over $7 for 16 sq. ft. so I purchased 2 boxes full. :) I hope I don't need to buy more any time soon.

I wouldn't want to roll equipment over them. For that application I would suggest just placing them in front of the equipment, and moving them as needed.

Was walking by the sporting goods department at Walmart and they had them on the table next to the treadmills(can`t remember the price).
But think I will give them a try.

As far as I know, not at all. Most will basically put them where they do not have to move equipment. Alternately, the mats should be easy to move, so if it is not constant moving of units, you could get by.

I've also seen them at Harbor Freight. Not sure on the price though.

I just got back from Harbor Freight. They have the anti-fatigue mats for $6.00 per pkg. Each package will cover 16 sq. ft. I bought the HF in Milwaukee out, they said they will have more in on Tuesday.

John,
I bought Horse/Cattle stall mats from a local Feed and Seed store for $34. The mat was 3/4" thick HEAVY duty rubber (recycled tires I believe) and is a little over 4' wide x 5'-6" long. If you go this route, bring a friend to help you unload! DAMHIKT

I used to have one of those thin mats from Woodworker's supply at my lathe. After standing on that for an hour, my shins and feet were killing me. After installing the 3/4" thick rubber mat, I found I can stand longer at the lathe, with much less fatigue. A real benefit is that the rubber insulates me from the cold concrete floor during the winter.

Another plus is that the mat is so heavy, the shop vac doesn't pick it up when I'm trying to clean up around it.
