I work in the facilities department of a small private university. I often repair furniture, built ins, cabinets, etc. as part of my job. With hand tools, I don't make enough dust to worry about setting off the building fire alarms-with power tools, I have to put the building in test, so if the fire alarm goes off, the fire department does not come, and it is a major nuisance to have an alarm go off if people are sleeping in a dorm or class is in session in a classroom building. Hand tools rock!
