I've made a leather quiver for my wife as a birthday present as that she wants to get into archery.

I've been trying to document as I go, hopefully the pics will bring you all along with me.

I started with a 3/4oz double shoulder from Tandy's (http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/home/home.aspx). I did some prep work ahead of time: the design was layed out in AutoCAD and imported into Corel Draw where I added a few elements.

Google images helped me a bit with the inspiration...I wanted this to be special, above and beyond what she could have bought in a store.

I engraved a set of wings to go around the body of the quiver.

(fixing the bottom is on my to-do list today)

I still have to finish the strap, but for the most part it is complete.

This is the type of project I like to see... a quality mix of artistry (and stolen inspiration ;)), handiwork, and thoughtfulness.

Really sweet work, Chris. Did you cut the leather with the laser as well? Are there special tools for making the bevel on the trim piece and punching all those holes?

Chris

really great work. Can you show us the stamp you made to do the debossing?

Yes, I had the laser cut the leather, including the holes that I used for stitching. The bevel on the leather is done by hand with an edge beveler (see below).

The stamps are just 1/4" plywood. If they would be used many times over, I would have made them of Delrin; these wood stamps I consider disposable.

Very Awesome! I want to try to get a leather tooled look on wood when I have time to play with the design. It's on my project list for creating wood frames.

Super work, Chris, plus major points for going the extra mile for your wife! I love the color scheme and details. You did a great job planning and executing this quiver. So will you be engraving her name on the arrows too?

Thanks.

I may forgo engraving the arrows...I'm thinking something small on the bow, if I can get it to fit in the bed.
