Haven't posted for a while, life has been exceedingly busy, in fact I think I need to retire. :D

Camphor Laurel 6x7 with spirals and curved lip, both the shape and lip of Asian influence and the rule of thirds doesn't really exist there. Finished in WOP and buffed.

Sanding, sanding , sanding after carving the spirals all by hand

Nice work Hughie. You should tell everone that you only used sandpaper (no carving)!!! You sure make some great spiral pieces.

Lovely wood and finish looks great! The spirals are totally breath taking. It took a lot of turning, sanding and carving. Delightful work!

:) Scott, funny enough some folk do have crazy ideas of how I do it. I find it better to have some small variations so they do not look like CNC work, people sure are funny at times.
