Small problem with the kitchen faucet. When I turn either the hot or cold or both on at the same time, the water runs great for about 20 seconds and then comes to a complete stop for about 10 seconds and then blasts out full force . Is it one or more of the washers that could be doing this , or is it time to replace the whole faucet ? It's about 4 years old.

Faucets today do not have washers, they have cartridges. It could be the cartridge or I would first check the aerator on that faucet. Depending on the brand of faucet it may have a lifetime guarantee on the cartridge, contact the manufacturer.

A brand and model number would help. Otherwise we could help you with a Delta, when you have a Grohe.

Took the aerator off. Still starts and stops.

Does it have a hose sprayer on it, it could be that value.

It is the diverter valve for the sprayer that usually causes a faucet to do that.

Better find out where the water is going. Because it sounds to me like the line is draining somewhere, creating an air pocket. Noticed any wet spots anywhere in the basement?
