I made a jewlery box and sprayed it with rattle can gloss lacquer. I want to polish and wax it a bit. I have a beall system for my turning and I was wondering if I should just wax it or should I use the white diamond compound first before carnuba wax?

The white diamond grit can lodge in the grain unless the surface is very smooth. I've used the Beall system many times and it produces a very nice finish if the surface is very smooth.

It has five coats of lacquer but I can see some slight "pock marks". The are not deep and are imperfections in the lacquer finish. I thought the buffing might fix them?

Give it a try in a place where it won't be seen - maybe the back - and see how it comes out.

I did just that and it turned out pretty well. Thanks!
