Anyone have one of these lathes? I am needing some measurements from the banjo. Is the banjo used on the lathe and the one for the outboard extension the same on the base? Looking to upgrade a banjo for my old Oliver and hoping one of these will be close enough in size. I need to know the overall length front to back and the width of the base. I will most likely have to change the part that catches under the ways so not too woried about the size of that. Also how tall is the post from base to tip?
Thanks
James.

James:

My wife has this lathe. The lathe banjo measures 17 1/2" L, 4 3/4" W and the post measures 7" from bottom to top. The outboard turning banjo is 30 1/2" L, 4 3/4" W and 7" tall. The gap between the ways is 2 1/2".

Thanks Tom. The ourboard rest only measures 7" where the tool rest goes into? I would have thought that to be taller. Still may work would just have to make an extension for my rests. I am trying to come up with a banjo for my 30" Oliver that has a cam action.

Let me check the outboard again tonight - I measured at lunch and may have mismeasured.

James: I was correct but not complete. The banjo is only 7" tall at the post but there is a 13" extension, so the tool sits 20" off the ways on the outboard extension.

Thaks Tom I thought there was an extension. Sounds like that may work. No to decide whether to buy one or build one.
