Well, probably worth a look. If very lightly used, that would be a good price. If seriously used and abused, it could still be a good price. I sold mine, purchased in 98 or 99 for $1500. They were selling new for $2750 then. Only way to know for sure is to go and look at it. Do plug it in while there to make sure it runs. My speed control button failed after some years, and so did the off/on button, but I think I had it for 8 years or so.

SO it an OK price???? and worth the 2 hour drive??
Or is it worth waiting a few days and see if I can get it for $1500.

Just got of the phone with powermatic they said the 18" bed extension won't work with the A. Also they said the discounted parts like the (legs, tail stock) are not compatible with the B. However they have different company making replacement parts.

So I think I'm going to pass.

Hope I made the right choice

This is a very good lathe with a long standing reputation. They do not last long on the sales lists because they are very popular. If you have a machinist friend, they may be able to adapt the current extension to fit. Not sure on that though. Hard to beat that price.

If you are in need of a large lathe, I think you should JUMP on that lathe for $1800...unless you "needed" the extension bed for some reason. At that price, you are getting a heck of a piece of equipment.
