Just finished oiling this piece this morning. It has about 10 coats of Mahoney's utility finish and still needs to be buffed. I sucked at hollowing the interior on this one. My monster needs to upgraded to a heavier one. Just a little too much hanging over the tool rest so thickness is not even an issue ... it's thick and heavy. Measures about 10 X 5, 1 3/4 inch opening. The top is just a collar of the wood ... just my little embellishment. C & C are certainly welcome.

Wes, it looks nice! On the Monster issue, I can go about 8" in maple with my articulated system, though I have to take light cuts toward the end of that depth. Past that, I use the captive Monster setup. It uses the same cutters, base and laser, so all you need are the captive bars, the "D" bar, and a longer heavier boring bar. Todd and Michelle should be able to help you with that.
