Box Elder Vase

This vase is 7 1/2"h x 6 1/4"w. Finished with walnut oil then sprayed with lacquer. Would love to hear anyone's opinion, good or bad.

It is an interesting piece. The combination of turned and natural edge opening give it different view points. Lots of grain pattern also. The large diameter base tends to turn a lot of people off, but does make it stable. I can't really see the little groove detail in the base lip to make a comment there. The shape is non-typical but that is also a personal interpretation of best use of the wood. I'll be looking for others comments.

I like the way you saved a lot of grain and added a cool visual with the lip...very different form that works!
