I am putting in a 3 phase load center (eaton BR series) and I bought a Cutler Hammer BR330 breaker to provide power to a 30 amp outlet. The Breaker fits the panel but the breaker switch won't move to either the on or off position. I have worked with a lot of single phase breakers but not 3 phase. Is the breaker defective or is there something I am doing wrong?

My three pole breaker are just like and operate exactly like their double pole counterparts. Mine are SQ D but sounds like a breaker problem. Dave

Same here. I've used several different types of 3-phase breakers and they operate the same way as single phase breakers.

If it's tripped it has to be moved to the open position to latch the mechanism.

If that's not the issue, it's a defective breaker........................Rod.
