Hey everyone. I just joined SMC and I live in LA (the San Fernando Valley). I'm building a pair of frame and panel service doors (approx. 16" x 30") to cover my electric panel, cable and phone connections. It's south facing but covered with an overhang. The panel will be 3/8" rough sawn exterior siding. I'm leaning toward straight grain Doug Fir for the frame. Any thoughts, suggestions?

Thanks,

Solan

I'd use whatever you plane to use for siding, make it as invisible as possible. So if it's rough sawn panel, rough sawn frame. No need to highlight a utility panel cover, better IMo to camouflage it.
