Does anyone know what type of polymer makes up the varnish component of Watco Danish Oil?

I am considering using it on a saw handle and would like to ensure that it can be touched up easily after it inevitability gets damaged throughout its life. I would typically mix up my own oil/varnish mix but this project is so small that I would need to open a fresh can of my beloved p&l no. 38 and begin the shelf / pot life clock for less then an ounce of required finish.

thx

the last pages of the msds state "resin" and the TDS states that it is an oil/varnish blend:

MSDS are not required to list ALL the components in something like Watco. What is required is that hazardous or dangerous components be listed. Varnish resin is not considered either dangerous or hazardous so those components and their amounts are considered proprietary information.

It is certainly easy to reapply as needed. No prep work required other than removing dirt or coats of wax. It will not, however, build up a coat as will varnish but rather just keep the wood sealed. Usually if you want a "finish" on top of the Watco apply a wax. I like Watco quite a lot as a tool handle finish without the wax or any other shiny finish.
