I finally got around to finishing a closed carcass pretty much as it is going to be with the exception of the spine toe end. The double loop will go with the double loop version. I have been playing with the design for a few months now. I wanted something between my 12" tenon and an open carcass. So, 12ppi, 12" x 0.025" or 0.020" x 3" under spine. It will be cross cut. The handle was made to be used with a 2" x 10" as well. Just some thing a little different. I tried some Sapele for the half back handle. It is a bit light and porous. But otherwise it works fairly easily. C&C always welcome as usual. http://i1179.photobucket.com/albums/x395/ronb19571/Just%20a%20few%20saws/IMG_0891b_zpsabf8ff6b.jpg

Wow.

The Sycamore version is sharp.
The etching is new - nice touch.

Hi Jim. I am still trying to get all those little ducks to walk in a straight line. That sycamore came all the way from Georgia, I think, just to become a saw handle. :)

Very nice work,Ron. The furniture conservation shop, which was located next door to my toolmaking shop got a large sycamore stump about 30" in diameter. Then, they let it sit outside until it rotted completely away!!

I really like the sycamore tote! I will soon be building a bookcase from spalted, quartered sycamore...now I know what to do with the offcuts.

Beautiful saws for sure. Makes me dream of one of those hanging in my shop. Some day!

Great looking saw Ron. I'm still getting to know my half-back, thanks again. Keep it up!

Ron, I'm loving the sycamore! Looks great on my saw! Many thanks.
Might have to get you to make me a matching carcass saw too!

Jamie, Keep in mind yours has a lower hang for a more relaxed feel.
Maurice, I posted yours on my home page for a while. You should have it by now. Take care

Ron,
My new saw was waiting for me last night when I got home from work. It was doubly good, because today is my birthday - BONUS! Let me just say how stellar my Roubo saw is that thing can slap zip through some wood! It cuts straight indeed, much straighter than I can normally cut, but I won't let that lull me into the false sense that I have any ability.
In short, it's gorgeous, and I love it! Now, I might need some siblings for it.....:).

Many thanks!
