hey all.

if you were gonna trim your interior doors with oak trim or some sort of wood trim that had an oiled/poly finish, what would you do about the jambs? most manufactures that i've looked into offer either spruce or mdf jambs.

stain em?

I would treat the jambs the same as the casing to keep a consistent look. If you can't find jambs to match your casing material, make them. Pre cut jambs can be frighteningly expensive...I looked at solid oak jambs once...almost suffered terminal vapour lock...you could buy a small car for what they wanted...:eek:

hmmmmm never tried that.

got any direction for resources or advice? or just deconstruct the spruce jambs and go from there?

buy the doors pre-hung in the particle board/vaneer jambs.
