Is Aspirin safe for dogs ? My 11 year old Pointer went and sprained his leg today, been limping on and off all day. Is there a certain dosage to go by ? Weighs about 75 Lbs.

Search the page for aspirin and you'll get the answer.

I just gave our dog, a Treeing Walker Coonhound (midsize, maybe a bit smaller than your Pointer) 2 baby aspirin for a foot injury and she was fine. I don't recall the website but Aspirin was one of the few safe meds for a dog. Definitely not Advil / Motrin, etc

Our vet gave our dog a prescription of Vetprofen following her spaying. It is from the same class as ibuprofen, but not the same thing so best stay out of the medicine cabinet.

My small dog takes a low dosage of tramadol for back pain which is a prescription from the vet.

I work in a vet office and they say buffered aspirin is ok, but regular aspirin can put holes in heir stomach. Not sure of the dosage though.
