Am I the clumsiest person in the world or is it impossible to pour solvents out of quart cans without making a total mess?

Bought some varnish and mineral spirits to make a wiping varnish. When I try to pour the mineral spirits out into a measuring cup I end up with a few ounces spilling all over and making a mess. Why can't the companies who make the solvents use a can with a cone shaped top instead of the flat topped ones that have the spout in the middle?

Jerry,

I'm with you on this one - especially when the solvent can is near full and you're not trying to dispense too much fluid.

Myk - I think Jerry and I are talking about the common solvent cans that have a 1" to 1 1/4" spout right in the center of the top.
