I want to replace two metal doors with 6 panel mahogany doors. Actually, one of the would replace two panels with a window, it's an exterior for, but not as ornate as a front entry. The other goes out to the garage. I am assuming I need the fire resistant type? Help with details and trusted sources please.

The door to the garage would have to be a solid core filled type door, you can use the plywood with particle board filled door common to that use. It is 1 3/4" thick. If your 6 panel is the applied panel type it will work. As to the outside door, it is your choice. The code is more concerned about your garage getting a fire inside, with your cars and lawnmowers, which have gas in the tanks. Just be sure to use a jamb with good weatherstrip and threshold in both cases.
