View Full Version : Lathe stand leg levelers?

I'm thinking through design for a midi lathe stand.

My shop floor is not very even.

Has anybody successfully used screw type levelers on a lathe stand? Rockler has some heavy duty ones with good reviews.

I'd rather go this route than trying to shim the lathe to level because I may move it later.

Am I misguided in this thought?

No reason levelers will not work, my Jet 1642 came with them.

I've used screw type levelers for couple of years ... added Rockler locking caster wheels a year ago when they were on sale. The screw levelers are quite stable under my ~325 lb of lathe, bench, and sandbags. The Rockler locking caster wheels give me ample mobility when needed. Couple of pic's follow.

Just so happens I have a set of industrial quality leveling feet that would have to be mounted through the bottom of the stand that can be yours very reasonably plus shipping. If interested send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will take a photo and send you the particulars.

My PM 3520B came with the adjustable levelers and I use them because my concrete floor is uneven.
