I am attaching breadboard ends on my dining table with steel cross dowels. I would like to make sure that they don't come unscrewed over the years. Should I glue up the hole the holds the nut or is there something else. Thanks

If I am thinking about this correctly -- How about blue or green locktite?

Chris, I would make sure that I enlarged the hole that the actual bolt went through to allow for some wood movement. Cross dowels can really tighten up a joint. I would think that it might tighten it up so much that it wouldn't allow for movement, therefore, I would suggest enlarging the hold, at least just a little to allow for some of that movement.
