Last weekend I pick up a Miller Falls Miter box and saw for $25.00 from the original owner. He said he purchased it new in the 50's for $60.00
The miter box works great and it came with a 28" x 6" back saw with the Miller Falls logo on it.
My question is if this is the 760 model the sticker on the saw is not readable.
Thanks, Jacob266137

Probably a Millers Falls "Langdon Acme" 74C or 75C. Looks similar to mine from 1954. The mitre boxes themselves in that line are identical as far as I know except for possibly the length of the guides. The various model numbers indicated the size of the saw included:

72C - 24 x 4
73C - 26 x 4
74C - 28 x 5
75C - 30 x 5

There was also 1071C, 4" without a saw, and 1074C, 5" without a saw, for people who wanted to provide their own saw.

I believe they measured the saw height underneath the folded back, in other words just the blade itself. As my blade has about 4-1/2" left, I assume it was one of the 5" saws. It's only 26" at the toothline, however, but where the blade meets the handle is 28". Maybe someone else knows for sure about their measurement scheme.

That looks exactly like my 74C. The saw that came with it, still to be sharpened, is 5" under spine. I will be replacing that awful looking handle. I believe mine is 11ppi.

$25 with all the parts and a serviceable saw?

Don't buy any lottery tickets this year,
you're already a winner.

That's a smokin' bargain, right there.

Thanks for the information Andrae the read stick is what made me think it was a 760 could not fined any information about the 760

The man that sold it to me was real happy that I was going to use it. He took great care of it, I got lucky. I might send the saw out to Bob Rozaieski to have it sharpen the first time. He did a amazing job on another back saw I have for a Stanley miter box I have.

Looks just like my MF 74C too, which came with a Disston 28" saw plate, 26" of 11ppi teeth. I cleaned mine up and painted it silver and red:
