Issues with Engraving Ceramic

I have a possible customer who wants to have Ceramic Dummy Wafers Marked, has anyone had issues engraving this material and also what would be the best laser to use?

Depends on the ceramic. Some is great, some is good, some is passable, but most are engravable on a co2 machine. The yag may offer some surprising results. Your best bet is to have them give you a sacrificial test piece and develop your own settings.

About a year ago someone brought up this same subject, after playing around with it I think they decided to give up on it but if you do a search you may be able to find the thread and get some information on what they tried.
