Howdy everyone

Just in case anyone here is interested, or doesn't have anything better to do, and you are in the area, I will be demonstrating this Saturday, May 17, at the CNY Woodturners up in Syracuse (or thereabouts). All I have to do is get up there in the general vicinity and drive around looking for some turners. Ha ha, not really. I am planning on inflicting myself on Dale Sherman, who is my guide for those parts. It serves him right too, since it was his idea in the first place.

Unfortunately, I do not have any details on time or place yet. I do know it is going to be an all day affair, or as long as they can stand me, and I will be doing the same thing I did in Indiana - going through the process of cutting a log for a bowl blank, roughing it out, and preparing it for drying. If anyone here reading this is there, be sure to say hello.

I will post details if and whan I get them, or perhaps Dale will be good enough to do so.

Bill

Hmmm, sounds like you're looking for someone to tell you where to go, Bill.;)

Bill's turning demo will be held at the DEC log cabin at the NYS Fairgrounds near Syracuse, NY. Go to Central NY Woodturners (http://www.cnywoodturners.org/calendar.html) calendar page for more info.

I've recently cut up some 40" diameter spalted sugar maple and 36" silver maple for Bill to use in his demo. The trick is that the club lathe is a Oneway 1018. :D No outboard rig, either.

Are you bringing a faceplate that will bolt onto a wheel of your GMC, Bill? Should make for an interesting demo.

Hey Dale and Bill,

I'll try to make the hall back up to my old neighborhood if the demo is open to non-members.

Angelo,

A little further south in NY

Come on up, Angelo! The more the merrier. I think we have between 15 and 20 members likely to show up. If you click on the link I posted earlier for CNY Woodturners, you'll see the cost is $20 for members, $25 for nonmembers.

Hope you can make it,
Dale
