Turned a piece of the Box Elder I scored the other week. Not the piece of wood I posted before (I'm saving that one) but it still has some pretty flame.

Carole, absolutely stunning form to that bowl! Very well done. I also like the red and how it just kind of "creeps up" on the rest of the wood's color, rather than "shouting" out, "Hey I'm RED!!!" :D Just sort of blends right in. Did I mention that the form on that is really, really nice?:)

Very beautiful Carole. I gotta find some of that. I like the shape and the direction of the grain..very flowing. The finish is great...what did you use? What size is this one?

Thanks, guys!:)
John, I used Danish oil, then buffed with carnuba wax. That's what I use on all my stuff. It gives the wood a soft sheen and it feels wonderful to the hands.
