So I'm helping someone clean out the rest of her late husband's wood shop after she had an auction and I come across this thing hanging on the wall. It is aluminum and had a few small c-clamps on it.

Any ideas what it might be for?

Folding sheet metal is my guess.

Okay, that makes sense. I was just thinking wood because it was in a wood shop.

Can anybody think of a reason I'd want to keep it around? What would you use that size break for?

You could bend your own sheet metal router dust collection for beneath your router table.

I would save it,.... Next week you may need to bend some sheet metal. Does not look like it takes up much room.

Absolutely keep it around.
There's plenty of things it can be used for.

Now,,,all I have to do is think of a couple of them ;)...

Just kidding - well - mostly kidding anyhow. I did have occasion a while back where I had to bend some sheet metal to make an extension for a ceiling heating duct. A small brake like that would have made an easy job out of it instead of the semi-ordeal it turned into.
Stuff like that is a lot like a hammer drill. You can go years w/out needing it, but, when you do need it there's no substitute.

Actually, it's not shop made. I've got one of those. I probably bought it several years from a company that sell jewelers tools. I used it to bent smaller pieces of thinner gauge copper sheet. Perry

Go to You Tube and search on sheet metal bender.

I recently purchased a new Baileigh Metal bender for my shop. Never needed one before but I use the new bender a lot now that I have it.
