Thought I would start here. I'm looking for an outline of a Glock Compact ( 19,23,32) and a Kimber 1911 Outline. I was asked todo a foam cut for a Pelican Style case. Any Ideas where I would be able to track down Images todo? Your Guys help is Greatly appreciated!

You may need to scale and convert, but this should get you started

Another thought: go to your local gun store with some 8.5 x 11 and a pencil and ask to trace them. While you are there, mention you can laser cut foam for gun cases and leave some cards.

May I ask what type and thickness of foam works best to laser cut for gun cases? WHeer do usually buy it?

Closed cel is the better choice since it will not take on moisture as compared to open cel.

I've used these guys before: http://www.foamforyou.com/Closed_Cell_Foam.htm

Thanks for the source for the foam. I have never cut foam, may I ask how think you cut in one pass, or do you do more passes? I just want know know what thickness to order so I can try it. I have a 45W Helix.

No worries on the Glock Dave I'm going to do just a basic drawing of it . I appreciate your help with this. Out of curiosity what Program did you use?

Hi Eddie,

AutoCAD 2013 from a basic manufacturing drawing I had left over from my days in the arm trade.

Wintopo to convert the Sil to a vector then clean up and redraw anywhere that was fudged by Topo.

Finally a quick check to make sure everything stayed relative (scale and size) then save as an AutoCAD 2000 version DXF.

If you ever need any more feel free to drop me a line, your welcome to any of the ones I have :) (the UK gun situation is close to non existent these days so I have no use for the drawings)

best wishes

Dave
