In some of the planes I've been cleaning lately there was a Union 120. It has a screw on knob,which is missing. Can anyone give me an idea of the size of said knob and what kind of wood this was made of. Thanks!

Looking through an old Union catalog, the only mention found is of the wood for their bench planes being mahogany.

It can at least give you an idea of scale.

I had one of those a while back. Took a 1/4"x20 bottoming tap and re-tapped the hole. A brass or steel bolt at the local hardware store worked just fine. need the head of the bolt to look like a wood screw (oval??)and only need one the height of the knob
