This was a fun project. I figured I would post it, it might give others some ideas... 264901264900

Now that's a stout little guy. A pair of those and a hollow core door . . . instant assembly table.

Heavy Duty! What are the dimensions?

Nice and sturdy! You won't have to worry about those flexing on you.
Being nice and solid built, I'm sure you will find more uses for these than you can now imagine.

If you have little ones interested in gymnastics, they look like they could double as a pommel horse :).

These were made out of fir 4x4 which is actually quite light. I would say about 10 lbs or so each. The dimensions are 18" tall by 24" wide, just about right for ripping stock. 264914

Interesting, that's way lighter than I was thinking.

I like the birdsmouth on the stringer joints, although I suspect its overkill it sure looks cool :D If I'm seeing it right you relieved the bottoms a smidge as well. Very nicely done all the way around.

Thanks! Yeah, totally over engineered but a great way to try some joinery that I wouldn't normally get to use.

If they are light ,I think the wood is hemlock (aka hem fir). Perfect for your purpose but not so good for exterior use. I would call them draft horses.

Nice indeed, I may have to try making one or two of those.

A pair of those will easily hold a ton or more. Nice job!

A nice benefit of the width is that the two sawhorses, nestled together, makes a nice ~7" bench :) 264968
