Red Neck

This is my latest of my burl series. It is another piece or olive that was gifted to me by the lovely Sally Ault. It was sent to me about 2 years ago. It was a lovely piece of wood but its shape was such that it could not be grasp effectively without loosing at lot of the wood. I took me that long to figure how to make the piece without loosing to much wood. This southwest form was perfect for the piece or wood. It is about 6 1/2" x 4 1/2" x a little over 1/8".

A little play on words I call it "Red Neck"

This piece will be in the instant gallery at the symposium.

Wow......now that is a beaut! Love the deep contrasting red with the color of the wood..........boy, "redneck" sometimes has connotations not associated with beauty or art............I would consider another title like ....."fine red wine" or something that is fitting for the beauty of this piece!
