This is a piece of oak burl that is 13 3/8" x 12". I filled some of the voids with Inlace turquoise. It was dipped in a blend of oils and then Beall buffed. If you look closely you will see the image of a wolf in the center of the turning. You never know the surprises that are inside of the wood until you expose it through turning. C & C welcomed.

Saw the wolf immediately - pretty neat!! I assume this is turned as a display platter?

Nice work Steve! This merits more pics...side and bottom maybe?

John, yes it is a display platter. My brother wanted one to put on his book shelf at home. He requested that it be made of burl and be a certain size. The wolf was an added surprise.

Jim, I only took pictures of the from side only. My brother already has it in MI, so no other revealing pictures--sorry. It is about 1" in depth and has a flat bottom. Nothing fancy.

I too see the wolf . Good work ,Mother Nature ! Much better than the Madonna burl. We all improve with practice.

Great work. It is amazing what nature hides inside of trees.

Nice piece. I see two wolves, the nose of one becoming the eye of the other.

I have seen a few Tortillas with Jesus on them as well. :D That is a pretty cool piece of wood. Clearly visible.

That's pretty neat. Nicely done. I see 2 wolves, with their snouts right next to one another.

Brian K, I think he is a talking wolf from a fantasy story and he is sitting around the campfire smoking his pipe and tell a story of when he was a young wolf :-D Maybe we could sell the idea to Disney.

That wolf is so real you might have to teach him to sit ! ( pun intended with no extra charge ...hoot!)

that piece is intriguing. I keep going back to it. This morning I think it looks more like 2 bears than wolves.
