The bedroom furniture I am trying to match on my bookcase build has distressing on it. A few dents here and there as well as black flecks and black along some of the edges. I was thinking a black glaze would work.
I was thinking of a process like this:
Spary on WB Analine Dye
Sealcoat of WB Lacquer
Scuff sand
Add some dents with a few nails sticking out of a board
Add black flecks and accents.
Final wet coat of WB Lacquer
Anyone see any problems with this?
I have a couple of questions for those with more experience than I.
Should the glaze be latex or alkyd? I have read that a WB glaze followed by WB lacquer may cause bleeding.
Can regular old latex or oil based paint be used as a glaze? It can be thinned down to whatever consistency is required. Anyone ever do that?
Thanks for any and all suggestions.
